Idaho Lake

Idaho lake. A serene lake near Upper Twin Lake with a serene beauty. Idaho Lake is about the same size as George Lake. There are few humans there due to the lack of clear trail, but those of us that go there........... really like it. So, a couple of days ago ( Friday..I think ), Glenda Jacobson and I rode out of D & F Pack Station to go scout the trail into Idaho Lake. The trail was in normal shape.... Well, it starts out as a clear trail from Potter Pass headed north by northeast for a while, then disappears as you get to crossing a little spur. From that point onwards, it is more difficult to follow. Glenda and I had to dodge a few new downs and arrived at Idaho Lake in about 2 hours riding from D&F ( we made a few stops & detours along the way). We both roamed a bit, had some lunch, and I took a nap on a bed of pine needles in the shade.

These 3 pics above are of the little pond below Idaho Lake. I camped there one time with the kids as it is a nice spot.

Above are 5 pics of Idaho Lake itself. It has a nice ring of trees surrounding the edge, and Kaiser ridge is the backdrop to the south.

The 4 pictures above are taken from a little knoll about 200 feet from Idaho Lake with a view towards Kaiser peak, Minarets, and Shuteye peaks.

The video above is from riding along Potter Creek on the 1 hour mountain trail on the way home.

In this picture Glenda is looking down towards Idaho Lake about 300 feet away with Kaiser Ridge as the backdrop.
